While all my speculating and my thoughts may have turned up bubkis for EA, I mean, I had less than nothing to overthink over.

Which is why I am glad they got their presser over with first, it gets some of the standard drops and peeks into what the controversial gaming company has in store for us.

Battlefield V

Battlefield V

We all knew this was coming, we didn’t quite know what it was going to be about but we did know it existed. We had box art well before the event. Today they showed off some new customization options and game modes, while giving us a peak inside the minds of the folks at DICE. They are intending the single player campaign  to be their version of World War II through untold stories of that time. And as has come to be expected, DICE announced a Battle Royale mode for the BFV.

I know next to nothing about sports games, but they announced the release date for Sept 28. I will work on my knowledge of sports titles, so please bare with me on my lack of info taken from this showing.

Origin Access Premier

EA’s clone of what we see Netflix or Hulu being. Signing up for this service gives you instant access to play games that get released from EA and all on your handy dandy PC. It’s a tempting service, but there aren’t a handful of EA games I would want so I personally see no point but maybe further down the line I could be convinced. But for long time fans of the company, this might just be an expense you learn to budget for in the future.

Jedi: Fallen Order

This is something I got fairly excited to hear, Respawn Entertainment lowkey announced a Star Wars they are working on, which is set between Episodes 3 and 4. While it seemed the one giving the information was drugged so he wouldn’t say more than he was allowed to, but it sounds like a dark/gritty tale of the time just after the order was called for the eradication of the Jedi Order. While it isn’t a KOTOR sequel, it is something. I know what I have to look forward to Holiday 2019.

Star Wars Battlefront 2

DLC was announced for Clone Wars, some new characters and modes as well.

Unravel 2

While I never played the first one, I should because it looks absolutely charming, but a preview of gameplay for the sequel was shown. Introducing a blue yarn, which looks like it can merge with the red one, or walk separately. It showed off a bit the interactions with the world the characters have but nothing much more than that. It is pretty to look at though.

Sea of Solitude

So… an EA original IP, one that looks super freakin creepy, but with an interesting art choice. It looks like something along the line of someone’s shattered state of mind. The flowing between sanity and insanity. It looks, as I said, creepy, but something I would keep my eye on closer to its release in 2019.

NBA Live 19 and Madden NFL 19

Nothing but talks of PC release for the first time in years for Madden, but just another installment is on the way.

Command and Conquer Rivals

Fans of the C&C series must have felt their ears burning when EA announced the new mobile version of C&C. They showed off some gameplay, and some people say it looks a bit like Clash of Clans, but I feel this would be a interesting way to revive this series.

And….*drum roll*

Bioware shows off new Anthem trailer, then the dev team did a deep dive, going into detail about the world at large, hyping it up as a better experience to play with a group, most of the experiences being improved with more people, while you enter the city it turns into a single player experience. There are different tier events, different “raids” as I would call them. The huge world is seen by all people, so if a storm rolls through on one side and you are on the other, if it passes or you are watching in the distance, everyone can see when this storm went down. They also introduced two new classes Interceptor and Storm. Most people critisize it for looking just like Destiny, but the more you learn about it, the more interesting it sounds.

So EA did step to the hot seat with everyone’s raised eyebrows after the past year or so they’ve had and they managed to not fizzle out. Sure nothing spectacular is going down at EA other than the new Premier service, Anthem, and the very shady Jedi game. Anything can happen in a couple months or the year but this E3 started off ok and can’t wait to see what happens the next couple of days.

What did you like most from EA? What did you think of Anthem? Give me your thoughts and feedback, tell me what you are hoping for the rest of E3.
